CREAM Scholarship Application


 

Benefits:

 

  • $1,750 per semester applied towards tuition, fees, and books only. Students may not receive refund check if they are awarded the CMR scholarship.

  • Perform research with a CMR researcher or associates and earn $3,150 stipend annually.
  • Receive priority when applying for the CMR Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Program.

 

Requirements:

 

  1. Pursue degree in chemistry, physics or engineering at Norfolk State University
  2. Maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA
  3. If student currently have less than 3.0 cumulative GPA, an increase of at least 0.3 a semester is needed for continued support, until 3.0 is achieved.
  4. No grades below C
  5. Semester GPA equal or greater than 3.0
  6. Participate in required meetings
  7. Do not change courses without consulting with scholarship advisor
  8. Actively participate in research in the CMR, with stipend compensation

 

If above requirements are not met, the student is placed under probation, and support is suspended for a semester. If requirements are met during the suspension semester, the student is reinstated the following semester. If not, the scholarship is terminated.

 

The three-member scholarship advisory board ensures the application of the scholarship policies, including the selection process.
